Local Lads DROPSINK Share New Energentic track ‘impressions (she said)’
The quartet are launching the single at The Austral next month.

Adelaide’s punk scene is thriving, with rising act DROPSINK the latest to make their mark. Since forming in 2024, the quartet have released several rocking singles and supported the likes of Surf Trash, Mac The Knife and Semantics.
Today, DROPSINK have released their latest headbanger, ‘impressions (she said)’. A snarlking heart puncher sonically intune with DZ Deathrays and Violent Soho, DROPSINK describe the track as“focusing on recovery from addiction and social anxiety, and the implications that come with these things.”
They add, “‘impressions (she said)’ was written as we welcomed Simon [Banaag, bass] into the band. Welcoming a new member allowed us to expand our sound, making production more dynamic, as well as adding backing vocals to our music. ‘impressions’ is the first of a fresh direction of song writing which DROPSINK have taken, drawing from a new set of influences and focusing on meaningful lyric writing and a heavier aesthetic.”
‘impressions (she said)’ is accompanied by a music video of DROPSINK performing in a garage that was directed by Ethan Shillabeer, Alannah Underdown and Harry Verner.

Since getting together last year, DROPSINK have already found themselves added to rotation on triple j Unearthed and nominated for an award at the 2025 South Australian Music Awards.
To celebrate the release of ‘impressions (she said)’, the band are hitting up The Austral for a special single launch on Friday 12 December, alongside The Hazys and Sacrificial Larynx. Tickets are on sale now via moshtix.com.au.
