Formed more than three decades ago, CAKE emerged from the California alternative scene to become one of the biggest acts of the ‘90s courtesy of their sophomore album, Fashion Nugget.
Topping the US Heatseekers Albums Chart and peaking at #9 on the ARIA Albums Chart, the record spawned the huge hits ‘The Distance’ and ‘Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps’, along with the band’s iconic cover of Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’.
Although their last album was 2011’s Showroom of Compassion, which did debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, the band have been hard at work on their ninth studio album, Billionaire in Space, which will hopefully be out in the world by the time the band hits Australia.
Catch CAKE performing at Hindley Street Music Hall on Tuesday 16 March. Ticketing information is available at destroyalllines.com.
