Two of the country’s most innovative music makers, Ben Lee and Georgia Maq, are teaming up for a national tour this September and October.
Dubbed the Two Most Annoying People You Love Tour, the duo, who have been friends for years, will perform songs from across their careers solo and together at each show.
“Georgia is one of my favourite songwriters and favourite people,” says Lee. “Can’t wait to invite the audience into our friendship, into our world.”
Maq adds, “I love Ben so much and I’m so excited to interpolate our son.”
As the press release states, the duo will be “performing a two-hour show in prestigious theatres, both on stage the entire time, backing each other up, harmonising, performing deep cuts, bold covers as well as each other's classic tunes.”
Fans can also expect a few new tracks thrown into the mix, offering audiences the chance to see two of Australia’s great songwriters at the peak of their powers.
Lee and Maq’s Two Most Annoying People You Love Tour commences in Brisbane at the Princes Theatre on Wednesday 23 September. The duo then plays Melbourne’s Recital Centre on Thursday 24 September, followed by dates at Sydney’s City Recital Hall on Friday 25 September, Milton’s Theatre on Saturday 26 September, The Rechabite in Perth on Tuesday 29 September, Fremantle’s Freo Social on Wednesday 30 September and Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide on Thursday 1 October, with the final in Canberra on Friday 2 October at Canberra Theatre.

Ben Lee and Georgia Maq have achieved much in their careers over the years.
Lee has been making music for well over 30 years, getting his start with Noise Addict before becoming an acclaimed solo artist, releasing 15 studio albums, winning four ARIA Awards and becoming a regular on the touring circuit.
Maq may have been around only half as long as Lee, but her impact on the local scene is undeniable. Taking the globe by storm as the lead singer of indie rockers Camp Cope, Maq released three albums with the band before it broke up, then moved to LA and pursued a solo career that has included two EPs and a 2019 album.
