Basement Jaxx Unveil Close Counters as Special Guest on Australian Tour Dates
Aussie duo Close Counters will accompany Basement Jaxx at all seven shows.

Australia, it’s almost time to get on the dance floor, with Basement Jaxx's hotly anticipated tour kicking off in just over two weeks.
Ahead of the London electronic duo’s first Australian and New Zealand visit in over 15 years, Basement Jaxx have revealed Melbourne’s Close Counters as their special guests on tour.
Comprising Allan McConnell and Finn Rees, Close Encounters merge electronic, disco and jazz into a captivating sound that has seen them play all across Australia as well as Europe, with the group even performing at Glastonbury.
Basement Jaxx arrive in Australia after dominating dancefloors at Coachella and in clubs and festivals across the UK and Ireland in 2025, accompanied by a live band for what promise to be seven spectacular shows, four of which have sold out.
Basement Jaxx kick things off in New Zealand, headlining Christchurch’s sold-out Electric Avenue Festival on Friday 27 February. The duo then cross the Tasman for headline shows in Australia at Riverstage in Brisbane on Sunday 1 March, Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide on Tuesday 3 March, Sydney Opera House Forecourt in Sydney on Thursday 5 March (sold out) and Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday 7 March.
The pair take to the stage at this year’s Golden Plains Festival in Meredith on Sunday 8 March (sold out), before bringing their tour to a close at Fremantle’s Fremantle Prison on Wednesday 11 March (sold out).

For a moment in time, Basement Jaxx were one of the biggest electronic outfits on the planet. Rising through London’s club scene in the mid-’90s, they achieved global success in 2001 with the release of their sophomore album Rooty, which contained the smash hit ‘Where’s Your Head At?’.
The duo of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe have gone on to release seven studio albums, earned two BRIT Awards and one Grammy Award, and performed on some of the world’s biggest stages, including The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and both the Pyramid Stage and The Other Stage at Glastonbury Festival.
Bringing their live concert experience to Australia and New Zealand for the first time since 2010, this is one concert you don’t want to miss!
