Aussie-based Kiwi punk pop act Bakers Eddy are raising a toast to their new EP, I'm Doing Better, with an Australian tour.
I’m Doing Better arrived last Friday (June 6) and comprises six tracks, including singles ‘Manners Street’, ‘UFO’ and ‘Dust on My Brain’. Co-produed by Vincent Mcintyre (Fan Girl, Mr Industry, Elizabeth M. Drummond), mixed by Justin Gerrish (Vampire Weekend, The Strokes, Weezer), and mastered by Emily Lazar (Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Sia), the EP is 18 minutes of bubbly punk pop melodies with early 00’s indie nostalgia vibes.
Speaking with Music NZ about the release, frontman Ciarann Babbington said: “I think it feels like a breath of fresh air for anyone who’s been a fan for the last few years. We’re wearing our early emo/pop punk influences on our sleeve more than we’ve ever done, and we’re speaking about things that really matter to us.”
Bakers Eddy’s tour hits six venues across the country, beginning with The Austral in Adelaide on Friday, August 8. The band then perform at Sydney’s Buddys Bar on Friday, August 15, Brookvale’s 7th Day Brewery on Saturday, August 16, Gold Coast’s Mo’s Desert Clubhouse on Thursday, August 21 and Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge on Friday, August 22, with the final concert at Melbourne’s Shotkickers on Friday, September 12.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now via bakerseddy.com.
