Baker Boy’s hotly anticipated sophomore album DJANDJAY is finally here. Arriving via Island Records/Universal Music, the album features 14 brand new tracks, including the previously released singles ‘THICK SKIN’ ft. Thelma Plum, Emma Donovan, Kee'ahn & Jada Weazel, ‘PEACEKEEPER’, ‘FREAK OUT’ ft. Briggs and Haiku Hands’ and ‘LIGHTNING’ ft. REDD.
Having wowed audiences at the AFL Grand Final two weeks ago and performed at a sold-out album launch show at Melbourne’s Nightcat, the release of DJANDJAY ushers in the next chapter of Baker Boy’s exciting career.
Speaking on the album, the six-time ARIA Award winner said, “DJANDJAY is me stepping into a new era, owning my music, my art and my direction. This body of work is wholly me and everything I stand for. It’s proud, it’s Blak, it’s vulnerable, it’s angry, it’s nuanced. I’m here to show everyone that I’m more than what they expect of me.”
Today also sees the release of the music video for DJANDJAY track ‘RUNNING LOW’, a collaboration with US rapper Pardyalone. Directed by Aurie Indianna and Jordan Ruyi Blanch, the clip is the fifth and final in a five-part visual series filmed within the historic Werribee Mansion.
“I was talking about being on the road, the pressure to create — but also the sacrifice of living away from community, of missing funerals and carrying that weight,” Baker Boy says of the song. “It was a favourite from the demo, originally, I sang the hook, but bringing in Pardyalone gave it this crazy energy. His voice just hits.”
To celebrate the release of DJANDJAY, Baker Boy is hitting the road in 2026 for a mix of festival and headline shows across the country.
