Having already kicked things off with the Hottest 100 Australian Songs countdown earlier this year, which saw INXS take out top spot with ‘Never Tear Us Apart’, the station has organised a run of concerts across the country.
Held in Hobart, Newcastle, Adelaide, the Gold Coast and Torquay, each show will be hosted by triple j presenters and feature a different lineup of Aussie talent.
The triple j 50 Tour kicks off in Hobart/Nipaluna at ODEON on Saturday 15 November and is hosted by the legendary Zan Rowe. The lineup of artists performing includes six-time ARIA Award winner Courtney Barnett, Luca Brasi, Emily Wurramara and Gordon’s Grandson.
The tour then moves to King Street in Newcastle/Awabakal on Friday 21 November with performances from Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, The Grogans, South Summit and HORSE, with Concetta and Luka hosting.
Next up is Adelaide/Kaurna, with SA’s very own Tkay Maidza headlining with support from BARKAA, Nerve and Zion Garcia. Held at The Gov on Saturday 22 November, the concert is hosted by A.Girl and Dave Woodhead.
Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast/Kombumerri plays host to presenters Abby and Tyrone with a bill consisting of local fav Mallrat alongside Darcie Haven, Jem Cassar-Daley and Lottie McLeod on Thursday 27 November.
The final leg of the tour takes place at Torquay Hotel in Torquay/Wadawurrung on Friday 28 November. Anika Luna and Kailyn Crabbe will oversee proceedings with musical performances from Ninajirachi, FUKHED, IsGwan and KSMBA.
