Any Young Mechanic Announce National Tour

It’s been a bit of a weird couple of months for rising local act Any Young Mechanic.
The art folk outfit, originally known as Wake In Fright (a homage to the iconic Aussie flick of the same name), was involved in a legal battle over naming rights with the Wake In Fright Trust. Looking to find common ground with the Trust, a deal was unable to be made, forcing the band to rename themselves.
Taking to Instagram to share the unfortunate news in January, the group released a short statement explaining the situation and revealing their new name: Any Young Mechanic.
Name change aside, nothing has altered musically for the band, with members Luka Kilgariff, Thea Martin, Allan McBean, Jachin Mee and Sam Wilson getting on with things by announcing their first shows of 2025.

“So excited to announce that we are playing our first ever Any Young Mechanic shows in March!” the band posted on Instagram. “We start in Eora (Sydney) this Saturday at The Warren View Hotel with the wonderful Freight. See you out there!”
The tour begins this weekend at Sydney’s The Warren View Hotel alongside Freight on Saturday, March 1. Any Young Mechanic returns to Adelaide to support Peter Bibby at Crown & Anchor on Sunday, March 9 and perform at Westbound Fest on Saturday, March 15. The final date of the whirlwind national tour takes place at The Tramway Hotel in Melbourne on Saturday, March 22, with support from Daisypicker.
