Bandleader and drummer extraordinaire Alexander Flood returns to Australia in the New Year for a four-date capital city tour.

This year has been a momentous one for Flood, with the percussionist releasing the album ARTIFACTUAL RHYTHM, which garnered great reviews, and performing a stack of dates across Europe over the summer.

Flood’s summer tour takes in Perth’s Mojo’s on Thursday 15 January, Adelaide’s Jive on Friday 16 January and Melbourne’s Bergy Bandroom on Saturday 17 January, before wrapping up at Sydney’s The Vanguard on Friday 23 January.

Tickets for all shows are on sale now via linktr.ee/AlexanderFlood.

One of the country’s premier beat masters, Flood has crafted his unique sound over the course of many years via study, training and pure dedication to his craft.

Along with his band, he creates rhythmic music that weaves through nu-jazz, house, broken beat, DnB, funk and experimental sounds, with his live performances akin to a jazz freakout with soul.

Having worked with some heavyweight artists, including Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah (formerly Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah), Elena Pinderhughes, Weedie Braimah, Ábáse, Horatio Luna, Cazeaux OSLO, Vivian Sessoms, Emma Volard and Nelson Dialect, and toured the globe this past year, Floods homecoming is one not to be missed.

Catch Alexander Flood performing at Jive on Friday 16 Janaury. Tickes on sale now via moshtix.com.au.
