AIR's Indie-Con Australia Conference & A2IM’s Indie Week Australian Edition Unveil Full Program
Over 90 speakers will take part in this year’s AIR Indie-Con Australia Conference and A2IM Indie Week Australian Edition.

The full program for this year’s Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) Indie-Con Australia Conference and American Association of Independent Music’s (A2IM) Indie Week Australian Edition has been unveiled.
Taking place in Australia’s UNESCO designated City of Music, Adelaide, from Wednesday 30 July to Friday 1 August, this year’s stacked program will feature 24 sessions made up of panels, workshops and one-on-one meetings. Over 90 speakers will take to the stage across the three days, including industry experts, label heads, executives, independent artists, and journalists. Check out the full program here.
The 2025 Indie-Con Australia Conference will feature speakers from CRASHERS, Mushroom Music AU and NZ, Flying Nun (NZ), MERLIN, Xelon Digital, Secretly Group (NL), Good Company (US), Handsome Tours, Good Manners Music, Bush Music Fund, Support Act, The Annex, Sound Merch, Trackwork, Offbeat Collective, ABC Music, Sunreturn (NZ), IMNZ, NZ Music Commission, Concord, Future Classic, Our Golden Friend, Remote Control, Media Arts Lawyers, YouTube, Spotify, Amazon, The Orchard, ADA, APRA AMCOS, ARIA, PPCA, Sounds Australia and AAM.
Topics covered at this year’s AIR’s Indie-Con Australia Conference include The Ever Changing World of Touring, Fan Development, The Future of Physical Music and How to A&R, along with case studies on Aussie artists Emily Wurramara and Sycco.
This year also sees the A2IM held outside of America for the first time, with speakers from labels such as Oh Boy Records, Empire, Hopeless Records, Rough Trade Records, FADER Label, Secretly Group (US), Symphonic Distribution; and organisations such as Rhymesayers, Go Digital, Better Noise, and CoSynd, all taking part in the event.
There will be a raft of different subjects covered, including Global Growth, The Back Catalog Blueprint: From Old Tracks to New Profits and Deal Making in the Age of AI, along with special Keynote speeches from Jody Whelan (Oh Boy Records,) and an Dr. Richard James Burgess (A2IM, President and CEO).

The conference will end with a Music Industry Debate and MusicSA’s annual unsigned talent showcase, Scouted.

Last year’s event was a massive success and featured the first Music Industry debate and a host of international panellists and delegates, including Dona Inthaxoum (Head of International Music Label Partnerships at Meta), Emmy Feldman, UK booking agent Stuart Kennedy (ATC Live) and Jim Romeo (Ground Control Touring). The conference also played host to a stack of local artists, such as PNAU, Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy, producer) and more.
This year’s Indie-Con coincides with the 20th anniversary of the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM), a trade association representing independent record labels in the United States. To commemorate the occasion, A2IM’s annual conference is being held outside the US for the first time, with A2IM Indie Week Australian Edition taking place on Wednesday, July 30, as part of this year’s Indie-Con.

This historic event is supported by the South Australian Government through the Music Development Office and will culminate with MusicSA’s Scouted, showcasing emerging, unsigned SA talents.
