Adelaide Fringe Opens 2027 Event Registrations

It might still be six months away, but Adelaide Fringe organisers are excited to announce that artist registrations are open for the 2027 edition of the long-running festival.

Artists from all disciplines and genres from around the globe, whether established or keen to perform at the Adelaide Fringe for the first time, are invited to apply.

Last year's Adelaide Fringe featured a blockbuster program that included Japan's spectacular Sumo show, The Shamrocks performing live and Screaming Jets frontman Dave Gleeson, with organisers confident the 2027 edition will be even better.

A whopping 8,044 participants were involved across 1,684 registered events and 562 venues, including 733 South Australian, 585 interstate and 366 international events.

1,050 events at this year's Adelaide Fringe were premieres, while there was also 32 per cent LGBTQIA+ representation, 41 per cent female representation, 24 per cent culturally diverse representation and 13 per cent disability representation, alongside 113 First Nations creatives and 36 First Nations-led shows, showcasing the diversity of the Adelaide Fringe.

Adelaide Fringe CEO Marc Carnes said, "You do not need to wait for an invitation to take part in Adelaide Fringe. Open access means artists decide what they present, where they present it and how they build their season, whether it is their first show or their fiftieth.

"This is not just a place where careers start. Some of the biggest names in the world choose to perform at Adelaide Fringe alongside artists picking up a microphone for the very first time. That mix is what makes Adelaide Fringe Australia’s biggest arts festival. We want artists from South Australia, interstate and overseas to see what is possible in 2027."

In great news for artists, Adelaide Fringe is reducing its Inside Charge from 5 per cent to 4 per cent. Locking this saving in for the next four years means artists will keep more of their box office returns, with the reduction expected to return more than $250,000 to artists annually and more than $1 million over four years. The initiative is supported by CreateSA and the Government of South Australia. 

All artists who register are given access to Adelaide Fringe support to help make their show the best it can be, while also having access to be part of the Schools Program and Honey Pot free of charge.

Those artists who register their event by Friday 30 October 2026 will be eligible for inclusion in the printed Official Adelaide Fringe Guide, providing even more exposure for their event. Those who register after the print deadline will still have their event listed across Adelaide Fringe's digital platforms.
