Funnyman Colin Mochrie (Whose Line is it Anyway?) and world-famous hypnotist Asad Mecci are bringing their unique HYPROV (pronounced hip-rawv) show, Yes, It’s Real, to Australia and New Zealand in 2026.
The one-of-a-kind 90-minute hypnosis and improv show involves Mecci hypnotising 20 people on stage, with the most responsive participants joining Mochrie to perform the rest of the show – while still under hypnosis.
Hilarity is sure to ensue when this unpredictable show arrives. Now in its tenth year, HYPROV has performed over 200 tour dates across the globe, including residences Off-Broadway and in Las Vegas.
“I’m excited to head back to Australia and New Zealand, two of my favourite places to perform,” says Mochrie. “The audiences there are sharp, funny, and just unpredictable enough to make them perfect for HYPROV. Asad hypnotises them, I improvise with them… what could possibly go wrong? I guess we will find out.”
Mecci adds, “Nothing is pre-arranged with the volunteers. What you see is what you get. The show is raw, authentic, and completely real. That’s why we called this tour Yes, It’s Real and every night is a comedy high-wire act without a net. I’m so excited to witness what Australia and New Zealand have in store for us.”
HYPROV Yes, It’s Real Australian and New Zealand tour begins at Brisbane’s Powerhouse on Thursday 16 April. Dates follow at Melbourne’s The National Theatre on Friday 17 April, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Monday 20 April, Canberra’s Playhouse Theatre on Tuesday 21 April, Auckland’s Skycity Theatre on Thursday 23 April and Adelaide’s Norwood Concert Hall on Saturday 25 April, with the final show at Perth’s Regal Theatre on Sunday 26 April.
Tickets for the tour are on sale Friday 14 November via hyprov.com.
