Everybody’s favourite party starter, Young Franco, has got 2025 underway with new single, ‘Lose Control’.
The playful joint is taken from Young Franco’s hotly anticipated debut album, it’s Franky baby!, arriving January 24 (pre-order here).
Co-produced with Perth-born, Lisbon-based producer Jafunk, the track also features Grammy-nominated rap duo EARTHGANG. This one has a real funky vibe, with EARTHGANG’s Olu and WowGr8 providing free-flowing rhymes over the hip-shaking beat. It’s the kinda tune made for a summer house party where the beers are flowing and the dance floor is quaking.
Speaking on the tune, Franco says: “I had this beat lying around forever, and in this prolific summer period of 2023/24, there were so many cool artists that I wanted to work with coming to town, and EARTHGANG was one of them. We worked out the time to get it in and made it happen…
“I know those two boys are really loved in Australia. It was super exciting to get in, and they just smashed it out super quick. It’s sort of a representation of a lot of the older Young Franco catalogue. I think it ties well into a lot of the’ it’s Franky baby!’ songs. So, I really wanted to make sure there was a song that kind of covered all the genres and styles that I like.”
EARTHGANG shares, “We loved working with Young Franco. The energy was organic and Sydney set the best backdrop for this collaboration. Can’t wait until the world hears this one.”
