Iconic ‘80s act Transvision Vamp returns to Australia for the first time in almost three decades next year. Fronted by provocative vocalist Wendy James, Transvision Vamp took the world by storm with their new wave meets pop rock sound.
Fans can expect to hear all the hits, including ‘Baby I Don’t Care’, ‘I Want Your Love’ and ‘The Only One’, when Transvision Vamp takes to the stage in February 2026.
“I am so excited to be coming back to Australia to play the songs that started my whole musical journey!” says James. “I remember vividly so many moments across Australia, moments of enormous success, enormous love and enormous fun. I’m bringing with me a set full of music that will thrill and musicians who will amaze!”
Joining James on Transvision Vamp’s unmissable Australian tour are guitarist Alex Ward (The Thurston Moore Group), bassist Dave Parsons (Transvision Vamp) and drummer James Sclavunos (Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds).
Transvision Vamp’s first Aussie tour in 27 years commences at Brisbane’s The Triffid on Thursday 12 February and continues with dates at Sunshine Coast’s The Station on Saturday 14 February, Newcastle’s King St Bandroom on Sunday 15 February, Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Tuesday 17 February, Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Wednesday 18 February and Adelaide’s The Gov on Thursday 19 February, with the tour wrapping up at Perth’s Magent House on Saturday 21 February.

Coming together in 1986, Transvision Vamp released their debut album, Pop Art, two years later. Landing at #4 on the UK Album Charts, the record is certified platinum in Australia. They followed up Pop Art with their notorious 1989 album Velveteen, delivering the #1 hit ‘Baby I Don’t Care’.
Transvision Vamp disbanded in 1992 after James went solo, releasing seven studio albums, including a notable collaboration with Elvis Costello.
Now, almost three decades later, James has got the band back together and is ready to bring ‘80s nostalgia to Aussie fans in 2026.
