Sad news for fans of post-hardcore rockers Thrice, with the American quartet announcing the cancellation of their upcoming 2026 Australian tour.
Thrice had locked in five shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth this May in support of their latest album Horizons/West, but took to social media overnight to reveal they had cancelled the tour, with no reason given as of yet.
“We are sorry to announce that we will have to cancel our upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour,” the statement reads.
“We know many of you will be disappointed, but we are too, and we promise we’ll make it back down there when the time is right.
“Refunds will be issued at point of purchase.”

Forming in 1998, Thrice made an impact on America’s post-hardcore scene in 2003 with the release of their third studio album, The Artist in the Ambulance. The band’s first release on a major label is considered a classic of the genre and received positive reviews.
Helping establish Thrice as one of the top dogs, the band has gone on to release a dozen albums, including last year’s Horizons/West, which was produced at the band’s New Grass studio.
While this is unfortunate, there is no doubt a very good reason for Thrice cancelling, and we hope everything is ok with the band and that they will be able to visit our shores sooner rather than later.
