A collection of Australian greats are coming together to pay tribute to the legendary John Lennon this July as part of the The Words & Music Of John Lennon: Give Peace A Chance tour.
Magic Dirt’s Adalita, singer-songwriter Diesel, The Church’s Steve Kilbey, The Preatures’ Isabella Manfredi and Jebediah’s Kevin Mitchell are taking to the stage and performing all of Lennon’s biggest hits.
The five superstars will be backed by a world class band led by Musical Director and guitarist Ashley Naylor (Even, Paul Kelly) that also includes keyboardist Wez Prictor, bassist Richard Bradbeer, drummer Lachlan O’Kane and vocal director Lindsay Field.
Along with Lennon solo staples such as ‘Imagine’, ‘Give Peace a Chance’, ‘Woman’ and ‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over)’, expect to hear Beatles classics including ‘Come Together’, ‘Help’ and ‘All You Need Is Love’.
The Words & Music Of John Lennon: Give Peace A Chance tour hits Brisbane’s QPAC Concert Hall on Thursday, July 3, Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Saturday, July 5, Sydney’s Opera House on Sunday, July 6, and Adelaide’s Festival Theatre on Saturday, July 12.

Originally getting his start in 1956 with the Quarrymen, it wasn’t until John Lennon joined forces with fellow Liverpudlians Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr and formed the Beatles that fame and fortune followed.
For seven years, the Beatles ruled the charts, releasing 12 albums and countless hit singles, before going their separate ways in 1970.
The next decade saw Lennon embark on a successful solo career, resulting in eight studio albums (three of which were collaborations with Yoko Ono) and three #1 Billboard 200 hit singles.
Lennon’s life was tragically cut short in 1980 when he was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman, although his legend lives on, with The Words & Music of John Lennon: Give Peace a Try, a wonderful way to pay homage to the great man.
