For over three decades The Waifs have been at the forefront of Australia’s avant-garde folk scene. In that time they’ve won countless awards, including four ARIA statues, toured internationally extensively and released three songs that hit #1 on the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) Charts – ‘Lighthouse’, ‘Bridal Train’ and ‘Sun Dirt Water’.
The Waifs have released eight studio albums over the journey – The Waifs (1996), Shelter Me (1998), Sink or Swim (2000), Up All Night (2003), Sun Dirt Water (2007), Temptation (2011), Beautiful You (2015) and Ironbark (2017), along with two spectacular live albums, A Brief History (2004) and Live from the Union of Soul (2009).
The current lineup of original members Joshua Cunningham, Donna Simpson and Vikki Thorn are excited to be back on the road again and will no doubt have crowds across Australia singing along during their not-to-be-missed upcoming tour.
