Less than a week out from the release of their upcoming self-titled album, arriving this Friday, March 21 (pre-order/pre-save here), Adelaide rockers The Superjesus have shared several remixes of single, ‘Something Good’.
The first comes from fellow Aussie legend Paul Mac, who tweaks the tempo and transforms ‘Something Good’ into a club anthem. This isn’t the first time Mac and Superjesus frontwoman Sarah McLeod have collaborated, with McLeod having sung on the Sydney DJ and producer’s single ‘Never Been Before’, taken from his 2005 album, Panic Room.
Also contributing a remix are Melbourne duo The Journey, whose solid take on the tune makes great use of McLeod’s powerful vocals.
When the original version of ‘Something Good’ dropped late last year, McLeod had this to say about the tune: “‘Something Good’ was a song I had a while back that I was harvesting for my solo album, I played it to Ruddy and he saw TSJ potential …so yet again it got swiped for a higher purpose. Ruddy took it to his studio and did a number on it, then it was unleashed on the band. It came up a treat! It’s super fun to play live as well ‘cause finally I have a song where I don’t have to play guitar. I thought lyrically it felt good for where we are at too.”
Bassist Stu Rudd added: “It is such a great song, initially upon hearing the track, I couldn’t get it out of my head, and it was one of the demos we kept coming back to, and felt it had to be released, once again happily pushing our own boundaries.”
