Returning to Australia in 2026, The Streets will perform iconic album A Grand Don’t Come For Free live in its entirety for the first time.
Released in 2004, the album entered the UK charts at #1 (it peaked at #11 on the ARIA Album Chart) and produced the generational hit singles ‘Dry Your Eyes’, ‘Fit But You Know It’ and ‘Blinded By The Lights’.
A concept album about a geezer who loses one thousand pounds and his relationship with new partner Simone, the album cemented The Streets’ Mike Skinner as a voice of the UK youth in the early 00s.
“I spent a year in Australia when The Streets was just an idea rattling around in my head, before any of it made sense,” Skinner said.
“Late nights that turned into mornings, hostels full of chaos, endless new faces and the kind of unfiltered, straightforward energy that only exists down under. All of that made its way onto my laptop and into the music that set me off on this journey.
“I’ve always loved coming back here with the band, it feels like a home away from home – the crowds are bonkers, they give as good as they get, and this is the first time we’re bringing A Grand Don’t Come for Free to the stage in full. Can’t wait to get properly stuck in over in Australia.”
The Streets’ Aussie tour begins in Adelaide at Hindley Street Music Hall on Sunday 1 March and continues with dates at Sydney’s Opera house Forecourt on Wednesday 4 March, Melbourne’s Palace Foreshore on Thursday 5 March, a yet to be announced venue in Brisbane on Friday 6 March and Perth’s Fremantle Arts Centre on Sunday 8 March.

The Streets’ upcoming Aussie tour marks the first time A Grand Don’t Come For Free will be performed in its entirety, giving fans a chance to experience the full story exactly as it was intended.
