Local rock and rollers The Shadow Ministers have a stacked King’s Birthday weekend coming up after announcing two special shows out west.
While it’s been a long time between drinks when it comes to new material, the rollicking rockers have been playing plenty of gigs of late, including a memorable performance at Pirate Life’s Smokeout event from a few weeks back.
Today, the collective have revealed two new shows, with The Shadow Ministers performing at Knife Shop Distillery in Streaky Bay on Saturday, June 7, and Lefties in Whyalla on Sunday, June 8.
The first gig is free, so there’s no excuse if you’re about Streaky Bay, while the Whyalla show also includes sets from Rat Tamango and Petewood Mac.
If those dates don’t gel, fear not, as the lads also have three shows the following weekend as part of the MusicSA-led initiative Coast to Coast.
The multi-state event sees The Shadow Ministers performing alongside surf rockers Stokes and indie delinquents Stimpies at Adelaide’s Crown & Anchor on Thursday, June 12, Mt Gambier’s Globe Hotel on Friday, June 13 and Melbourne’s The Penny Black on Saturday, June 14. All three Coast to Coast gigs are free and a great way to support local bands.
