Ed Kuepper is a dead-set Aussie legend. A co-founder of the iconic punk band The Saints, Kuepper is celebrating his 50th year as a recording artist in 2026 with a massive national tour.
The Exploding Universe of Ed Kuepper Tour is headlined by the songwriter, vocalist and guitarist alongside a talented band featuring drummer Mark Dawson, bassist Peter Oxley, keyboard player Alister Spence and brass arranger Eamon Dilworth, with the five-piece performing songs from across Kuepper’s incredible half-century career.
Kuepper will be joined on select dates by Californian ex-pat and now Melbourne resident Michael Beach, who will perform his 2025 album Big Black Plume. In Sydney, Beach will be joined by bassist Lloyd Swanton (The Necks), guitarist Mick Turner (Dirty Three) and virtuoso drummer Joe Talia.
“To be able to conclude the tour run in Sydney with Joe Talia, Lloyd Swanton and Mick Turner makes me pinch myself. As a long-time Ed Kuepper fan, it's a total honour to be opening these shows,” says Michael Beach.
The Exploding Universe of Ed Kuepper Tour kicks off at the Avoca Theatre on Thursday 30 July, followed by shows at The Street in Canberra (Friday 31 July), Wombarra Bowlo (Saturday 1 August), Adelaide’s The Gov (Thursday 6 August), Melbourne’s National Theatre (Saturday 8 August), Barwon Heads’ Hotel (Sunday 9 August), Fremantle’s Freo Social (Saturday 15 August), Brisbane’s The Princess (Thursday 20 August), Coffs Harvour’s The Jetty Theatre (Friday 21 August) and Murwillumbah’s Regent Theatre (Saturday 22 August), finishing up in Sydney at the Enmore Theatre on Thursday 27 August.
