Sweden’s premier music festival, Way Out West, is shaping up as another must-attended event in 2026 with a lineup headlined by legendary goth rockers The Cure.
Held in the beautiful Slottsskogen parklands in the town of Gothenburg, Sweden, Way Out West 2026 runs from Thursday 13 August to Saturday 15 August.
Fresh from the release of their 2024 album Songs of a Lost World, their first since 2008, Robert Smith and co will perform a career-spanning set at Way Out West next year.
Also on the lineup are Damon Albarn’s digital group Gorillaz, whose new album The Mountrain arrives in February, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Lorde, Moby, the xx, Blood Orange, Geese, Clipse and many more.

The inaugural Way Out West festival was a one-day event held around Gothenburg in 2007 that has expanded to a three-day festival featuring special gigs, movie screenings and late-night parties in a wide array of venues across the city.
The 2025 edition was another huge success for organisers. Headlined by Charli XCX, Queens of the Stone Age and Chappelle Roan, The Note’s review of Way Out West 2026 described the event as possibly “Europe’s best festival.”
