The Black Angels Add Melbourne and Adelaide Dates To Australian and New Zealand Tour

This year marks the 20th anniversary of The Black Angels’ landmark debut album, Passover.
Released in 2006, the Passover became a psych-rock cult classic and continues to resonate with fans across the globe.
The Austin psych-rock trailblazers are celebrating 20 years of Passover with an Australian and New Zealand tour, performing the album in its entirety.
After first announcing two shows in New Zealand and three as part of VIVID (Sydney), Open Season (Brisbane) and Dark Mofo (Hobart), The Black Angels have added two more headline dates in Melbourne and Adelaide.
The Black Angels tour begins in New Zealand with shows at Wellington’s Meow Nui on Friday 5 June and Strange Universe: Winter at Powerstation in Auckland on Saturday 6 June.
The five-piece then make their way to Australia for a headline show at Melbourne’s The Forum on Monday 8 June, followed by appearances at Open Season in Brisbane at Princess Theatre on Tuesday 9 June, Vivid LIVE in Sydney at Carriageworks on Thursday 11 June and Dark MOFO in Hobart at Odeon Theatre on Friday 12 June, wrapping things up in Adelaide at The Gov on Sunday 14 June.

Formed in Austin, Texas, in 2004, The Black Angels are one of the pioneers of the modern desert psych-rock movement.
Inspired by the likes of Syd Barrett, Roky Erickson, Arthur Lee and The Velvet Underground, The Black Angels initially found success with their 2006 debut Passover, and have gone on to release five more records: Directions To See a Ghost (2008), Phosphene Dream (2010), Indigo Meadow (2013), Death Song (2017) and Wilderness of Mirrors (2022).
Gaining a reputation for their mesmerising live performances, the current lineup of original members Alex Maas, Christian Bland and Stephanie Bailey, alongside Jake Garcia and Misti Hamrick, are excited to play their career-defining album live, along with crowd favourites for Kiwi and Aussie fans this June.
