They say all good things come to those who wait, and that’s been proved correct by The Beefs, who have finally released a music video for their contagious 2022 single, ‘Punchin’.
The clip stars Aussie comedian and choccy milk lover Aaron Gocs as a trolley collector working at a local supermarket.
“Some songs just need a video — and ‘Punchin’ was always one of ‘em,” the band said in a statement. “It’s finally here and it’s starring the one and only Aaron Gocs as our chief Beef. Watch it, love it, show ya mates.”
Directed by Ben Bouvier-Farrell, the music video follows mullet-sporting Saints fan Gocsy as he spends all day rounding up loose trolleys, only to be confronted by dozens of trolleys littering the street at the end of his shift.
The track itself has nothing to do with trolleys – it’s a cheeky dig at that one mate who’s batting well out of his league. “You're a pretty good bloke / I like you / Don't mind you / But is this some sort of joke? / You're punchin' / You're punchin' above your weight,” drawls vocalist Sammy Smith.
