The Avalanches Announce 2027 Australian Tour

Ahead of the release of their fourth studio album No Bad Memories, out Friday 16 October via EMI Australia, legendary Aussie outfit The Avalanches have announced their return to Australian stages.

The duo of Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi, alongside Andy Szekeres, have locked in six performances from Australian-born, London-based artist HAAi.

"We're crazy excited to be back on home soil playing these shows in Australia," the band said in a statement. "We can't wait to be back in a room with people and seeing where the night takes us. We've got a lot of new music we’re excited to play, alongside some old favourites, and we can't wait to spend a few nights making some beautiful noise and memories together."

The Avalanches begin their tour in Perth with two performances at Perth Festival at East Perth Power Station on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February 2027 (sold out). They then play Adelaide's Hindley Street Music Hall on Thursday 4 March, Melbourne's Royal Botanic Garden on Friday 5 March and Brisbane's On The Banks on Saturday 6 March, with the tour wrapping up in Sydney on Sunday 7 March on the Sydney Opera House Forecourt.

The Avalanches' No Bad Memories arrives six years after 2020's We Will Always Love You and includes the previously released singles 'Together' with Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza and Prentiss, 'Every Single Weekend' with Jamie xx, 'Blue Shadows' with Karen O, 'Can’t Get Over Losing You' with Portraits of Tracy and most recently 'Far Away' with John Glacier and Khadija Al Hanafi.

As Chater explains, the record began with "rhythmic experiments using the sonic leftovers and hallmarks of the technologies we grew up with", with recordings of hard drives, computer hardware and forgotten technologies becoming part of the album's sonic palette.
