2025 has been a tumultuous time for The Amity Affliction. The recent departure of longtime vocalist and bassist Ahren Stringer put the band in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. But the metalcore giants have returned with a vengeance this week, announcing Johnathon Reeves (Kingdom of Giants) as the band’s new clean vocalist and bassist and unleashing new single ‘All That I Remember’.
A reflective assault on the ears discussing frontman Joel Birch’s troubled relationship with a parent, ‘All That I Remember’ is sure to warm the cockles of long-time Amity fans.
“My mother knew only abuse and isolation, even in death as she cut her own children off; she died as she lived, paranoid and alone,” Birch explains.
Joel’s siblings also weighed in on the song, with Beau commenting, “Time and again, our mother showed us that she would put herself first, and use life’s pain to justify her actions of self-interest - while we were left to fend for ourselves.”
Joel’s sister Chanel adds, “This song reminds me how she would pit us against each other constantly, so much so I feel like my relationship with my brothers only grew after she was gone. When I was young, I couldn’t see it, I didn’t understand the manipulation until years had passed, and I crossed oceans to breathe.”

‘All That I Remember’ and the addition of Reeves usher in a new chapter in the band’s storied journey. A familiar name to many Amity fans, Cali native Reeves has toured with the band on their last few jaunts across North America and Europe.
Despite the upheaval caused by the departure of Stringer, the past 12 months have been huge for The Amity Affliction. The band celebrated the tenth anniversary of their seminal album, Let the Ocean Take Me, by releasing a redux edition of the record before embarking on a tour with We Came as Romans and Ice Nine Kills.
Heading back to America for a run of shows this June and July, The Amity Affliction then join Parkway Drive on their 20th anniversary tour across Europe.
