It’s been a big week for Sydney/Eora punk rockers FANGZ. Having inked a deal with Impressed Recordings and announced their debut album, Shui (arriving July 4), the five-piece have also unveiled their largest Australian tour to date.
The news comes as FANGZ are set to drop the Tim Maxwell (LOSER) produced and Jonathan Gardner (Front End Loader, Grinspoon) mixed single, ‘Annie Marie’, this Friday, May 30 (pre-save here).
Josh Cottreau has this to say about the track: “‘Anne Marie’ is a heartfelt tribute to my sister, Leigh-Anne Marie — a constant source of strength, support, and unconditional love. The song reflects on moments of struggle, gratitude, and personal growth, honouring the one person who never gave up, even when times were hardest. It’s a message of appreciation for her unwavering belief and a reminder to keep going and never stop doing what you love.”
FANGZ's upcoming national tour commences in Ngunnawal/Canberra at Fun Time Pony on Thursday, July 3 and continues with dates at Naarm/Melbourne’s Bergy Bandroom on Friday, July 4, Dharawal/Wollongong’s La La La’s on Saturday, July 5, Mulubinba/Newcastle’s Hamilton Station on Friday, July 11, Eora/Sydney’s Waywards on Saturday, July 12, Yugambeh/Gold Coast’s Vinnies Dive on Thursday, July 17, Meanjin/Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge on Friday, July 18 and Gubbi Gubbi/Caloundra’s Norton Music Factory on Saturday, July 19.
