It’s no secret that The Note office is a huge fan of Melbourne’s Telenova. The experimental indie rockers’ habit of dropping mesmerising singles continues with ‘In the Name of Your Love’, the latest taste of their upcoming sophomore album, The Warning, out February 27 via EMI Music Australia (pre-order/pre-save here).
Comprising ten tracks, The Warning has been billed as an album about “the light and the dark, the sky and the dirt” that brings together the three distinct voices of lead vocalist, writer and filmmaker Angeline Armstrong and multi-instrumentalists and producers Edward Quinn and Joshua Moriarty to form a cohesive collection of emotionally tinged songs.
Following the previously released ‘The Deep’ and ‘Vapor/Slow Dance’, Telenova’s latest track is a joyous exploration of love. Frontwoman Angeline Armstrong explains ‘In the Name of Your Love’ “is about having your life interrupted by love. Romantic, divine, potent — whatever kind of love it is. Something that wakes you up. Calls you upwards. To something that's not always easy or comfortable, but is rich, deep and true.”
The single is accompanied by a music video co-directed by frontwoman Angeline Armstrong and Oscar O’Shea, which adds to the band’s growing visual appeal.
