Dynamic Adelaide duo Teenage Joans are sure to get the mosh jumping with their fist-pumping new anthem ‘Coming Up From Hell’.
Following the country twang of ‘Bandits’, the latest rocker from vocalist and drummer Tahlia Borg and vocalist and guitarist Cahli Blakers retains the group’s punky side while leaning into heavier riffs and lyrical themes.
“The track is a glimpse into the new world we’ve been creating musically. The song came about hoping to create a bursting-out track - we wanted it to be fast, punchy, and most importantly let everyone know we’re back and not playing around,” says Teenage Joans.
“We experimented quite a bit with the instrumentation in our newer sound, hoping to show our maturity a bit more through the compositions this time, alongside the lyrics. The song is about our journey as artists in the modern world, it’s quite tongue in cheek, but the concept of hell is all the battles we’ve been through to be where we are, and we’ll do whatever it takes - even speak to the devil himself!”
Teenage Joans are taking their new single on the road, headlining a tour across the UK that includes festival appearances at Liverpool’s Sound City and Brighton’s Great Escape in May, before returning home to play alongside a recently reformed Violent Soho.
