Aussie alternative rock outfit Violent Soho are back! After a four-year hiatus, the quartet of Luke Boerdam, James Tidswell, Luke Henery and Michael Hardy are hitting the road for a run of three reunion shows this September.
The announcement coincides with the 10th anniversary of the band’s fourth album, WACO, which was nominated for Australian Album of the Year at the triple j Awards in 2026. The lads are also releasing a limited edition pressing of the album available in two formats – Standard LP (Clear/Red Splatter) and a Deluxe 2LP (Clear/Red Splatter and Clear/Black Splatter).
The Deluxe edition features never-before-heard B-sides, their epic Live A Version of Silversun Pickups’ ‘Lazy Eye’ and live recordings from their 2016 and 2022 Splendour in the Grass sets. Pre-order here.
Speaking about the reunion, the band says, “Some dudes play golf, we play in a band. For us, that band is Violent Soho and we missed making noise together. After 20 plus years though we’ve learned not to force it. There’s a lot of history, music, and tours behind us and we can't wait to get back out there and play some shows again. When we took a break, we said ‘Until Next Time’ and now feels like that time.”
As for Violent Soho’s reunion tour, it’s East Coast only, with the band kicking things off at Enmore Theatre in Sydney on Friday 11 September, followed by Melbourne on Friday 18 September at the Forum, before finishing off with a hometown show in Brisbane at Fortitude Music Hall on Friday 25 September. Coming along for the ride are Beddy Rays, who are playing all three dates, along with Teenage Joans, who’ll open in Sydney, and Secret World, who provide extra support in Melbourne.
Those who don’t want to miss out can sign up to the band’s mailing list for a chance to score tickets during the pre-sale on Thursday 23 April from 10am AEST. Sign up here. General on-sale takes place Friday 24 April at 10am AEST via violentsoho.com.

Formed in the Brisbane suburb of Mansfield in 2004, Violent Soho stood out from the crowd thanks to their catchy riffs (‘Covered in Chrome’, anyone?) and riotous live performances.
Across the band’s nearly two-decade career, they released five albums, two of which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart (WACO and Everything Is A-OK), scored two ARIA Awards for Best Rock Album and Best Group and achieved multiple Double Platinum, Platinum and Gold singles.
After deciding they all needed a spell in 2022, Violent Soho’s return four years later is something to be celebrated, with eager fans excited about the prospect of new music and more live shows.
