After dropping the epic seven-minute banger ‘End of Summer’ back in July, Tame Impala returns with the groovy psych rocker ‘Loser’.
The new track is more in line with classic Tame Impala as opposed to the dance vibes of ‘End of Summer’. The chorus of ‘Loser’ is a possible nod to Beck’s classic track of the same name, with Kevin Parker singing, “I'm a loser, babe (Yeah) / Do you wanna tear my heart out?”
‘Loser’ is accompanied by a music video directed by Sam Kristofski and starring Joe Keery of Stranger Things fame.
In the music video, Keery appears upset after his lover leaves and begins wandering around LA. Ending up at a marketplace where he drinks a beer on the steps and momentarily morphs into Parker near the end of the clip, it’s an interesting watch, with Keery an enigmatic presence.

The new singles mark the next chapter in the Tame Impala journey, with the Kevin Parker founder act becoming one of the most influential bands in modern music.
Each of Tame Impala’s four albums – Innerspeaker (2010), Lonerism (2012), Currents (2015) and The Slow Rush (2020) – have evolved from the psych-rock blueprint they began with into experimental journeys through synth-rock, neo-psychedelic and more.
Both Currents and The Slow Rush topped the Aussie ARIA Chart, with the band having won a massive 13 ARIA Awards, along with a BRIT Award and a Grammy Award, while also spearheading multiple tours both in Australia and across the globe.
Parker has become one of the most in-demand songwriters on the planet, working with an incredible list of musicians and artists that includes Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, SZA, Lady Gaga, Gorillaz, Thundercat, Rihanna and many more.
