Following the release of ‘I Know!’ in February, rising Tarntanya/Adelaide rockers Swapmeet are back with another dose of ear candy in the form of groovy indie track ‘Sand’.
The track is taken from Swapmeet’s debut album Mount Zero, which drops Friday 17 July via Winspear (Slow Pulp, Winter, Wishy).
Showcasing the band’s multi-instrumental approach to songwriting, ‘Sand’ features the dual vocals of Jack Medlyn and Venus O’Broin serenading the listener over grungy guitars.
“‘Sand’ is about wasting your own time, then being so, so mad at yourself. And a little bit mad at the people who make apps and phones so addictive,” says the band.
The single is accompanied by a music video directed by David Milan Kelly that was shot while Swapmeet were touring America.

Swapmeet’s debut album explores the feelings that come with being a young adult in the modern world, centring on themes such as first love, first heartbreaks and first disasters.
The quartet of Venus O’Broin (guitar, vocals), Joshua Doherty (bass), Maxwell Elphick (guitar, drums, vocals), and Jack Medlyn (guitar, drums, vocals) produced the record in collaboration with Armlock's Hamish Mitchell, crafting nine introspective tracks.
