Summer Sonic Reveals Second Wave of Artists
Added to the lineup are the likes of mgk, Viagra Boys, Jade and more.

The 25th edition of Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival just got even bigger with a new wave of artists announced.
Taking place at ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Tokyo and Expo ‘70 Commemorative Park in Suita, Osaka, from August 14 to 16, the new artists include rapper and singer mgk, Swedish punk ratbags Viagra Boys and English singer Jade.
Also announced are powerhouse girl group Babymonster, R&B artist Elmiene, singer-songwriter Nector Woode, UK punkers South Arcade and Mexican sister rock band The Warning.
They join an already monstrous lineup featuring headliners New York indie rock icons The Stroke, alongside Japanese kawaii metal band BABYMETAL, who are also curating the metal stage, UK funk act Jamiroquai, rockers Kasabian, avant-garde artist FKA Twigs, singer-songwriter Steve Lacey, Aussie drum and bass legends Pendulum and more.

First held in the year 2000, Summer Sonic has been running for 25 years in Tokyo and Osaka, highlighting both Japanese acts and international artists.
Last year’s lineup featured Fall Out Boy, The Prodigy, Yungblud, Bloc Party, Camila Cabello, Jorja Smith and more.
