Japan’s biggest annual music fest, Fuji Rock Festival, delivers another cracking lineup in 2026, with UK indie rockers The xx, Texan musical trio Khruangbin and iconic trip hop collective Massive Attack headlining the event.

Returning to Naeba Ski Resort, just under three hours north of Tokyo, Fuji Rock Festival runs for three days from Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July.

Alongside the headliners, the first lineup announcement for this year’s Fuji Rock features 66 acts, including Arlo Parks, Basement Jaxx, Snail Mail, American Football, Mitski, The Beths, Japanese Breakfast and more.

There’s also plenty of domestic acts taking to the stages across the weekend, with singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze, rockers Asian Kung-Fu Generation and acclaimed Japanese punk act Hi-Standard, who are playing Fuji Rock for the first time since 1999.

Limited pre-sale tickets are available now, with the general release taking place from Saturday 16 May via fujirockfestival.com.

The inaugural Fuji Rock Festival took place near Mt Fuji in 1997 and was a huge disaster. A typhoon struck during the first day of the festivals, with organisers forced to cancel the second day.

The following year, the festival moved to Toyosu, on Tokyo's waterfront, before finding its permanent home at Naeba Ski Resort.

Since then, it’s been a stalwart of Japan’s festival calendar, attracting a diverse range of artists from across the globe. Last year saw Fred Again.., Vulfpeck and Vampire Weekend headline alongside Haim, The Hives, Little Simz, James Blake, Ok Go and more.

Fuji Rock Festival takes place at Naeba Ski Resort from Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July. Ticketing information is available at fujirockfestival.com.
