Stage IV Diagnosis Prompts Adelaide Garage-Punk Trio Last Milieu's First Live Show
The band have also shared their first original track, 'GEN X'.

It's taken 15 years and an incurable cancer diagnosis for Adelaide garage-punk trio Last Milieu to announce their first live show.
The band are finally hitting the stage in the wake of drummer and vocalist Andi Last’s 53rd birthday following her December 2025 diagnosis of incurable stage IV breast cancer.
While a devastating outcome, this show is a celebration of Last and the support she's received from the local scene, with Last Milieu joined by Gtreen Cricles, The Mushniks and Baulk at the Möön for Punk From the Garage at 185a Semaphore Road in Exeter on Saturday 12 September.
"In 2011, we started playing in our lounge room and made a music video just for fun," says Last. "In 2015, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. As I went through treatment, making another music video was like therapy for me. I showed 'no evidence of disease' for many years while the world kept changing for the worse. In 2020, we started making music videos speaking out against rising fascism, but we still never played live.
"8 months ago when my oncologist told me, 'This is the cancer that almost certainly will end your life prematurely', our priorities shifted pretty dramatically. We have stuff to say. We can't wait any longer."
Along with all the fantastic live music taking place at the event, there will be fire dancers and pole dancers from Pole4Fitness, prizes from Adult Bliss awarded for the sexiest rocker, mod, garage rocker or punk and free pizza and soda. Those keen for an adult beverage can BYO.
DJ Anastasia will be behind the decks, playing the best garage rock and punk rock between sets, while entry is a $20 donation.

Ahead of their debut live performance, Last Milieu have released their first original track, 'GEN X'.
A fierce blast of punk rock, the track rages against systemic inequity and calls on those who grew up with MTV, The Clash and Joan Jett to help fix a broken system.
Last Milieu was formed by wife and husband duo Andi Last (vocals/drums) and Jay Last (vocals/guitars/bass) in San Diego in 2011. After making the move to South Australia in 2025, the group expanded into a performance-ready trio with the addition of UK-born multi-instrumentalist Stuart Baulk (bass/rhythm guitar/keys/backing vocals).
