Regional festivals are all the rage in South Australia these days, with Port Lincoln’s Spindrift Music Festival the latest set to take the Eyre Peninsula region by storm in 2025.
Taking over Port Lincoln’s beautiful coastline on Saturday, January 11, Spindrift Music Festival is shaping as a fantastic day of live music with a community feel that aims to deliver a destination event on SA’s Eyre Peninsula.
The inaugural Spindrift Music Festival is headlined by Australia’s Original Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute show, Funky Monks, who will perform all the biggest Chili Peppers tunes. The lineup also includes four-piece rock outfit Burnt Orange, Sheringa sandhills musical collective Danger Fog and hard-edged blues rockers Chickensalt.
Festivalgoers can also expect electric sets from local pub rockers Outnumbered, brass-themed group Brass Souls and reggae, ska and dub band Little Fish Roots Reggae.
If that’s not enough music to keep you entertained, a host of emerging local acts are also performing on the day to keep the good vibes going.
Spindrift Music Festival promises a range of different food vendors to cater to your cravings, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. Also, expect a large range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on offer so you can get a small buzz on while watching all the great live music.
Punters are encouraged to bring chairs and rugs to sit on, with the festival open to all ages. While there isn’t a dedicated area for kids’ activities, a kids’ disco will take place early in the day while the older children can take part in a bunch of family-friendly activities on the foreshore, including Xtreme Kites, paddles and water-based games.
Although there is no camping available, Port Lincoln offers plenty of great stays, with those travelling to the area urged to make a weekend of it by exploring the surrounding region and immersing themselves in the Eyre Peninsula.
Spindrift Music Festival is a great initiative by Open Eyre Events and promises to be an awesome day of live music at one of the most picturesque areas of the state.
