Spiderbait Reveal Local Openers for ‘Ivy & The Big Apple’ 15th Anniversary Tour

This weekend Spiderbait kicks off their Ivy & the Big Apples 15th anniversary tour in Brisbane. Ahead of the first couple of shows, the band have revealed the local support for each show on the tour.
Along with national support from good friends Custard, Magic Dirt, The Meanies, Tumbleweed and The Gnomes, Spiderbiat will be joined by female and gender diverse artists across the tour, with the VOIID on night one and ViperSnatch on night two in Brisbane, Blush in Perth, Exsister in Shoal Bay, Butterknife in Bateau Bay and Newcastle, Private Wives in Miranda and Sydney, My Guardian Angel on night one and Hot Milk Machine on night two in Melbourne, Rosie and the Posies in Adelaide and Box Dye in Canberra.
“Stoked to be touring Ivy & the Big Apples this year for her 30th birthday!” the band said in a statement when first announcing the tour. “Such an important album for us with lots of epic memories… like ‘Pony’ winning the Hottest 100 & Janet singing ‘Calypso’ … So to play the record live in its entirety around the nation will be mega. And a fantastic lineup of so many of our fave bands, thanks for celebrating with us! See you soon, Australia!”
Getting underway with two shows this weekend in Brisbane at The Tivoli on Saturday 4 (sold out) and Sunday 5 July, Spiderbiat then plays The Ice Cream Factory in Perth on Saturday 11 July, Shoal Bay Country Club in Shoal Bay on Friday 17 July, The Entrance Leagues Club in Gosford on Saturday 18 July, Miranda Hotel in Miranda on Sunday 19 July and two shows at The Forum in Melbourne on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 (sold out) July.
The final run of dates takes place at Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Saturday 25 July, Canberra’s The Baso on Thursday 30 July, Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Friday 31 July and Newcastle’s King Street Bandroom on Saturday 1 August.

Spiderbiat, consisting of Kram (drums, vocals), Janet English (bass, vocals) and Damian Whitty (guitars), are stalwarts of the Aussie alt-rock scene.
Over that time the band has released seven acclaimed albums, garnered over 100 million annual streams globally and taken home two ARIA Awards, including Best Alternative Release for Ivy & the Big Apple.
Released in 1996, the album debuted at #3 on the ARIA Albums Chart and produced the hit single ‘Buy Me a Pony’, which came in at number one on the Triple J Hottest 100, 1996.
Spiderbait’s upcoming tour gives fans a chance to hear many of the tracks from Ivy & the Big Apples performed live alongside favourites from their extensive catalogue.
