It’s been 14 long years, but LA alt-rock outfit Silversun Pickups are finally returning to Australia and New Zealand this July.
The Grammy Award-nominated quartet’s upcoming tour arrives in support of their much-lauded seventh studio album, Tenterhooks, which dropped in February.
The band will perform songs from the album, including singles ‘The Wreckage’, ‘New Wave’ and ‘Long Gone’, along with tracks from their timeless discography.
Silversun Pickups’ Tenterhooks Australian and New Zealand tour commences in Australia at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Tuesday 21 July. The band then hits Adelaide’s The Gov on Wednesday 22 July, Brisbane’s Tivoli on Friday 24 July, Hobart’s Odeon on Saturday 25 July, Melbourne’s Forum on Tuesday 28 July and Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Wednesday 29 July, with the final concert taking place in Auckland at the Powerstation on Friday 31 July.
Joining them on the tour is New Zealand indie-rock band Coast Arcade.

Known for their emotionally charged alt-rock anthems, Silversun Pickups have been out there getting it done for more than 25 years.
Breaking through in 2006 with their debut album Carnavas, which includes the Canadian Rock Top 10 singles ‘Lazy Eye’, an alternative classic, Silversun Pickups quickly established themselves as leaders of the 00’s American rock scene.
The band’s 2009 album Swoon earned Silversun Pickups their first Grammy nod for Best New Artist in 2010 and produced the hit single ‘Panic Switch’.
Renowned for their electrifying live shows, Silversun Pickups have performed on some of the world’s biggest festival stages, including Coachella, Lollapalooza and Osheaga, while touring alongside major acts such as Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, OK Go and Wolfmother.
