Growing up around gospel music in rural Gause, Texas, Ruthie Foster’s soulful and powerful music has been shaped by her mother, grandmother and the great gospel groups of years past.
After serving in the US Navy, Foster signed a development deal with Atlantic Records and honed her songwriting chops in New York City before heading home to Texas in 1993 to care for her sick mother.
After her passing in 1996, Foster immersed herself in music and self-released her 1997 debut album, Full Circle. Since then, Foster has released more than ten albums, including the acclaimed albums Runaway Soul, The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster, The Truth According to Ruthie Foster and the Grammy-winning Mileage.
Foster has also collaborated with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks and toured the globe, with her upcoming Australian tour not one to miss.
