Ruel Announces New Chapter with Single ‘I Can Die Now’
The track is the first taste of Ruel’s upcoming sophomore album.

One of the most exciting voices to emerge from the Aussie music scene in recent years, Sydneysider Ruel begins a new chapter with the release of his playful new single, ‘I Can Die Now’.
Released via Virgin Music, ‘I Can Die Now’ is an exhilarating pop anthem produced and co-written by Julian Bunetta (Sabrina Carpenter, One Direction) alongside Ammo (Beyoncé, Britney Spears), JKash (Charlie Puth, Dua Lipa), Mark Schick (Nessa Barrett, Benson Boone) and Ed Drewett (Niall Horan).
A tease of what to expect from Ruel’s hotly anticipated sophomore album, set for release later this year, ‘I Can Die Now’ was written during a session in Nashville. Having moved to Los Angeles and signed with Giant Music, Ruel has been collaborating with a diverse range of incredible producers and songwriters as he builds towards his next album.
“I've been waiting for what seems like forever to get ‘I Can Die Now’ out,” says Ruel. “I love the juxtaposition between the title and the theme and energy of the song - once you listen to it, you’ll know what I mean. On top of that, ‘ICDN’ is the first taste of what my new album might be like…”
Ruel has come a long way since the release of his 2017 debut single, ‘Golden Years’. The then 14-year-old was plucked from obscurity by Grammy-winning producer M-Phazes and soon found himself the talk of the town.
Since then, the talented vocalist has shared four EPs, released the hit singles ‘Painkiller’ and ‘Dazed & Confused’ and seen his 2023 debut studio album, 4th Wall, reach #3 on the ARIA Album Chart.
2024 was another action-packed year for Ruel, who released the covers EP Adaptations, collaborated with DMA’s on tracks ‘What a Life’ and ‘We’re a Pair of Diamonds’, and performed at Lollapalooza for the very first time.

This marks Dream Theater’s first tour of Australia since the return of OG drummer Mike Portnoy, who will be joined by vocalist James LaBrie, bassist John Myung, guitarist John Petrucci and keyboardist Jordan Rudess.
‘Beat To Beat’ is the band’s first release since their 2024 debut album, Stiletto.
The lineup also includes Lime Cordiale, The Presets, Thelma Plum and many more.
‘MOTHER’ follows the previously released singles ‘BALCONY’ and ‘UNSCARRED’.
