Sydney indie pop duo Royel Otis are everybody’s favourite band these days, and the love for Royel Maddell and Otis Pavlovic is set to continue with the release of their latest single, ‘Moody’.
Produced by Blake Slatkin (Gracie Abrams, Omar Apollo, Charli XCX) and co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter Amy Allen, ‘Moody’ has hints of Brit-pop and an early ‘00s indie haze flowing through it. It’s a real vibe.
Speaking to the track, Royel Otis, never ones to speak many words, had this to say: “It's a song about a girl.” Fair enough.
The lads celebrated the release with two sold-out gigs at The Troubadour in LA earlier this week, previewing a stack of new tunes from their upcoming sophomore album, along with fan favourites from their debut.
Those lucky enough to be in the States, the UK or Europe from June to October have the chance to catch Royel Otis performing life on their Meet me in the car tour, which also includes several festival appearances at the Governor's Ball (New York), Lollapalooza (Chicago) and Outside Lands (San Francisco, CA) and more.

Peaking at #10 on the ARIA Album Charts, Clash awarded PRATTS & PAIN a huge 8/10 and called it “a leap forward sonically, but also Royel Otis being comfortable with their sound being as eclectic as they are.”
