After causing a bit of controversy (and rightly so) with the release of their last single ‘Moody’ due to some uninformed lyrical content, Royel Otis have quietly dropped follow-up single ‘car’.
Named BBC Radio 1 “Hottest Record”, ‘car’ is three minutes of summery fun co-written by Royel Otis (Royel Maddell and Otis Pavlovic) with writer/producers Blake Slatkin (Gracie Abrams, Omar Apollo) and Omer Fedi (Lil Nas X, the Kid LAROI).
Taken from the duo’s upcoming second album hickey, which will land on Friday 22 August via OURNESS/Capitol Records (pre-order here), ‘car’ debuted live at Royel Otis’ recent appearance at this year’s Governors Ball.
Accompanying the single is a music video directed by Jamieson Kerr that features the lads walking around New York City and singing karaoke.
