American alt-pop artist Poppy has shared new single ‘Guardian’, the third track taken from her upcoming seventh studio album, Empty Hands.
Arriving on January 23 next year via Sumerian Records (pre-order here), Poppy’s Empty Hands draws inspiration from a wide range of genres, including industrial metal, heavy rock, and sugary pop, as well as the two-time Grammy-nominated artist’s surrealist roots.
‘Guardian’ follows the previously released tracks ‘Unravel’ and ‘Bruised Sky’ and is a slice of heavy alt-rock with a touch of Evanescence. Poppy’s soaring vocals complement the song's urgent guitar riffs and industrial metal vibe.
Empty Hands drops midway through Poppy’s Constantly Nowhere tour of Australia, which takes place in January 2026.
Performing alongside Melbourne nu metal masters Ocean Grove and Sydney metal beasts Inertia, Poppy takes over Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday 20 January, before hitting Sydney’s Roundhouse on Wednesday 21 January, Melbourne’s The Forum on Thursday 22 January and Adelaide’s Hindley Street Music Hall on Saturday 24 January, finishing up at Fremantle’s Metropolis on Monday 26 January.
