In great news for fans of Phantastic Ferniture, the band has added an Adelaide date to their upcoming Fronds Forever tour.
Comprising good friends Julia Jacklin, Elizabeth Hughes, and Ryan K Brennan, Phantastic Ferniture creates giddy indie pop that makes the heart flutter.
Despite having released only one album, their 2018 self-titled debut, Phantastic Ferniture have a passionate fanbase who are stoked to see the group returning to the stage next year.
Phantastic Ferniture’s Fronds Forever tour kicks off in Bunbury/Goomburrup at Prince of Wales on Thursday, January 16 and continues with three dates at Perth/Boorloo’s The Bird on Friday, January 17, Saturday, January 18 and Sunday, January 19. The band then heads to Brisbane/Meanjin’s The Brightside on Friday, January 24, Adelaide/Tarntanya’s Jive on Saturday, January 25 and Melbourne/Naarm’s The Night Cat on Saturday, February 1, before the tour wraps with two shows at Sydney/Eora’s The Lansdowne on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8.
Tickets for all shows are on sale now via Phantastic Ferniture’s website.
Formed in 2014 in the basement of Frankie’s Pizza in Sydney after Jacklin’s birthday, Phantastic Ferniture was an outlet for Jacklin and her pal’s garage rock endeavours.
Releasing their self-titled debut album four years later in 2018, Phantastic Ferniture embarked on a tour of Australia, selling out shows across the country. Their album was critically acclaimed, spawning the singles ‘Fuckin 'n' Rollin’, ‘Gap Year’, ‘Bad Timing’ and ‘Dark Corner Dance Floor’, with The Line of Best Fit calling it a “sunny garage pop delight.”
Sadly no sophomore album followed, with Jacklin concentrating on her solo work, releasing 2019s Crushing and 2022s PRE PLEASURE. The rest of the band also pursued their own projects, but now a decade after they first came together, Phantastic Ferniture are hitting the road again for what promises to be an awesome live experience.
