Pioneers of the American doom metal scene, Pentagram are finally making their way Down Under this year, announcing their debut Australian tour.
Considered one of the “big four of doom metal” alongside Candlemass, Saint Vitus and Trouble, Pentagram’s long-overdue tour tasks place this August in six capital cities across the nation.
Touching down in Canberra for the opening concert at The Baso on Wednesday, August 6, the quartet then hit Brisbane’s Crowbar on Thursday, August 7, Sydney’s Manning Bar on Friday, August 8, Melbourne’s The Croxton on Saturday, August 9 and Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Sunday, August 10, before wrapping things up at Perth’s Amplifer on Tuesday, August 12.
Pre-sale tickets are available on Thursday, April 10 at 9:30am local time. General on-sale begins Monday, April 14 at 9:30 am. For full ticketing information, visit hardlinemedia.net.
For those who count themselves as massive Pentagon fans, there are a limited number of VIP Meet and Greet tickets up for grabs. These include early access to the show and merch stand, a photo with Pentagram, an Australin tour poster you can get signed, an exclusive VIP lanyard and the opportunity to bring along three personal items to be signed by the band.
Formed by Bobby Liebling and Geof O'Keefe in 1971, Pentagram have been causing chaos for more than 50 years with their heavy metal doom rock.
Vocalist Liebling, who has been referred to as “the US version of Ozzy Osbourne”, is the sole remaining original member of the band. The current iteration set to tour Australia also includes guitarist Tony Reed, bassist Scooter Haslip and drummer Henry Vasquez, with all three members joining Pentagram last year.
Fans can expect a career-spanning set from the quartet, with Pentagram performing tracks from their relentless self-titled debut up to this year’s Lightning in a Bottle.
