Pendulum are in full album mode as they tease another taste of what to expect with the dynamic wall shaker, ‘Cannibal’.
Following on from the previously released ‘Napalm’ and ‘Save the Cat’, the Perth drum and bass act’s latest single is another ear-splitting electronic number for fans who like heavy bass.
The track is also the first time Pendulum have teamed with UK electro-rockers Wargasm, with Pendulum’s frontman and co-founder Rob Swire explaining in a press statement that he’d “been listening to [Wargasm] for ages” before approaching them to collaborate.
“When we finally met, I asked about their influences—and as soon as they started talking, it felt familiar,” Swire continued. “Atari Teenage Riot, The Prodigy, all that stuff. Even though our sounds are pretty different, it was clear we came from the same place."
Produced by Swire and Owen Charles and recorded at Pendulum’s London Studio, Pendulum’s upcoming album, Inertia, is their first since 2010’s Immersion. Arriving August 22 via Mushroom Music (pre-order/pre-save here), Inertia comprises 16 tracks and has been described as Pendulum’s most personal work yet.
