Ninajirachi has taken out the 2025 SoundMerch Australian Music Prize (AMP) with her debut album, I Love My Computer.
This is an incredible achievement for the young artist, known as Nina Wilson to her family and friends, who broke through this year with I Love My Computer after almost a decade. The album was critically acclaimed and spawned the hit singles ‘iPod Touch’, ‘Delete’ and ‘All I Am’.
The win nets Ninajirachi a cool $50,000 and shapes as the first of many awards the Central Coast artist will take home this year, with Ninajirachi also nominated for eight ARIA Awards.
“Thank you so much to the Australian music prize for awarding me this year, this truly means a lot to me!! I’m so proud to have produced an Australian album.
“I Love My Computer drew from my growing up on the central coast and the Australian dance music I heard in my childhood. To sincerely contribute to the awesome story of Australian music was one of my highest hopes. I hope I can keep making albums and telling stories forever. Thank you so much, I’m so honoured to receive this award.”

A total of 465 albums were initially up for the 2025 Soundmerch AMP, with this being whittled down to nine albums judged by a panel comprising musicians, journalists, retailers and those in the music industry.
Ninajirachi faced some stiff competition, beating the likes of Folk Bitch Trio, Floodlights, Tropical Fuck Storm and Mia Wray to claim the win.
She joins a list of acclaimed Aussie acts to have won the award, including The Avalanches, Courtney Barnett, King Stingray, Kankawa Nagarra and many more.
Speaking on Ninajirachi’s win, Scott B Murphy, Founder and Prize Director of the AMP, says, “The AMP process favours originality and Nina's album is certainly that! I thank the team of judges who have put so much effort into choosing I Love My Computer as our 21st winner – the Shortlist was very strong so choosing a winner wasn't easy."
