Instrumental Japanese rockers Mono are heading our way next year in support of their new album, Snowdrop.
Dropping Friday 12 June via Temporary Residence and New Noise, Snowdrop is produced by Brad Wood, who was a close friend of the late Steve Albini, the man who produced several of Mono’s previous albums and helped hone their sound.
Mono and Wood recorded Snowdrop in Albini’s storied Electrical Audio studios in September 2025. They once again worked with Chicago-based conductor and orchestral musical director Chad McCullough and enlisted a 10-piece orchestra as well as an 8-piece choir for the eight-track album.
To celebrate the release of Snowdrop, Mono have locked in five shows next year, beginning with a gig in Brisbane on Thursday 22 April at The Tivoli. Mono then play Sydney’s Manning Bar on Friday 23 April, Melbourne’s Max Watts on Saturday 24 April and Adelaide’s The Gov on Sunday 25 April, finishing up at Perth’s The Rechabite on Tuesday 27 April.
Tickets for all shows go on sale Tuesday 14 April via birdsrobe.com.

The quartet have released 12 studio albums and are considered one of Japan's preeminent post-rock outfits. Well respected across the globe for their reverb-heavy sound, Snowdrop finds the experimental act entering a new phase of their career.
