Luke Million Reimagines the ‘Knight Rider Theme’ for His Recreations Project
Fans can expect a “synth fuelled journey into 80s pop culture.”

Adelaide synth lord Luke Millions is taking us back to the neon ‘80s with his reinvention of the theme from the iconic TV series Knight Rider.
The show starred David Hasselldhoff as Michael Knight, a former LA detective left for dead who returns with a new face as a crime fighter alongside partner KITT, a near indestructible, self-aware, AI-powered 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Yes, his partner is a car!
Knight Rider is as ridiculous as it sounds, but it was a huge hit in the ‘80s, thanks in no small part to its iconic theme song composed by Stu Phillips and Glen A. Larson.
Million takes on the theme as part of his relaunched Recreations series. Volume 1 saw him reimagine everything from the Blade Runner end titles to Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2’.
The known vintage synth collector dived into his collection to create his version of the ‘Knight Rider Theme’ using a stack of vintage instruments including the SCI Prophet 5, Oberheim OB-8, E-MU Emulator II, Roland Jupiter-8 and Jupiter-4, ARP Odyssey and Moog Multimoog.
“No synths were spared in this recreation,” says Million. “I wanted to capture that unmistakable ‘80s magic with the same kind of firepower that defined the soundscapes of the time.”
