UK heavy alchemists Loathe are heading down under in May on their first-ever headline tour.
Graduating from the British heavy metal underground in 2014, Loathe combine nu metal with shoegaze, crafting a bold and in-your-face metlacore sound that’s seen them gain the seal of approval from Deftones' Chino Moreno.
Joining Loathe on tour are Leeds rockers Static Dress, making their first trip to Aussie shores.
Loathe’s Australian tour commences in Perth at Magnet House on Saturday 9 May. Dates follow at Adelaide’s The Gov on Monday 11 May, Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Wednesday 13 May, Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Thursday 14 May and Newcastle’s King St Bandroom on Friday 15 May, with the final gig taking place at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Saturday 16 May.

Dropping their breakthrough debut album The Cold Sun in 2017, Loathe have blazed a path through the UK’s alt-metal scene, winning fans through their technical brilliance and lush melodies.
Despite their last album being 2021’s The Things They Believe, Loathe’s fanbase continues to grow, with the group returning last year with new single ‘Gifted Every Strength’, which Revolver called a “bruising modern metal havoc with elements of slick jazz fusion and rainbow-road shoegazing.”
Having supported the likes of Korn, Gojira and Spiritbox, as well as performed at Download Festival, When We Were Young and Leeds and Reading Festivals, Loathe’s upcoming run of Australian shows are not to be missed by metalcore fans.
Catch Loathe performing at The Gov on Monday 11 May. Ticketing information is available at destroyalllines.com.
